NHG proudly welcomes professional artist and popular teacher Melanie Brannan, whose series of acrylic workshops feature a different inspirational piece of art each time that you'll reproduce. In this series, you'll have the opportunity to learn about new colors and techniques in each class you attend. Purchase a beverage from our next-door Cafe, sit down, and create with us in this fun workshop! Gustav Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement. In this workshop, we will use Klimt's 'The Woman in Gold' as our starting point. We will work on watercolor paper and adhere it to a matte board. After sketching our plan, we will use only Golden Fluid Iridescent Acrylics, painting our background and dress. You will love exploring this palette (gold, copper, bronze, micaceous oxide and quinacridone red) and be amazed at the luscious possibility of these hues. We will adhere a print of Adele's face and shoulders with Golden Matte Medium. Then using Nicecho Metallic Paint Markers, we'll draw paterns, adding collage metallic papers to add more layers. Mel till teach this entire process, and she encourages personal exploration with colors, composition, and patterns. You may bring colored pencils if you'd like to add more values to Adele's head and shoulders; otherwise, all supplies are included and all levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced. $85. All supplies are included. All levels of experience are welcome, from beginners to advanced. In order to have the best in one-on-one instruction, our workshop is limited to 21 attendees. Contemporary Expressive Floral Still Life Painting Workshop Our Art in the Garden Series continues with acrylics. NHG proudly welcomes professional artist and popular teacher Melanie Brannan, whose series of acrylic workshops feature a different inspirational piece of art each time that you'll reproduce. In this series, you'll have the opportunity to learn about new colors and techniques in each class you attend. Are you ready for a colorful, happy painting experience in the NHG Classroom? We’re going to create an expressive floral still life using bold, fluorescent colors with Golden’s Fluid Acrylic paint. Mel loves this process because it’s the opposite process of how she paints her contemporary landscapes. We will work from a AI created photograph with lilies and roses. After painting our canvas black, we will chalk in a very rough sketch of our composition. Then we’ll start painting the shadows and gradually add midtones, highlights and details. This workshop leaves lots of room for individual expression. We will keep our palettes bright and bold with turquoise, green gold, magenta, fluorescent pink and oranges. Patterned stencils will be provided for more graphic detail. Mel will teach this process, and she encourages personal exploration with colors, composition and patterns. All supplies are included and all levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced.
